Pelissero Barbaresco Tulin 2015

Sampling yesterday, my personal notes were that this treasured red is already a gloriously satisfying, generous wine, possessing remarkable density across a silky smooth texture. Mesmerizing notes of olive tapenade and prosciutto blend delicately with notes of ethereal red fruit. The wine continues to grow in the glass, gradually revealing its superb pedigree with hints of balsamic and truffles on the sublime finish. This treasure now displays an element of grace to be savored now through the next 5 – 10 years. – May 2022

Pelissero Winery

"Our agricultural DNA has always been firmly rooted in the timeless traditions of the Langhe farmer. We are located in Treiso, an independent municipality since 1957, in the heart of the Barbaresco region: one of the first Italian DOCGs. Barbaresco is inseparable from the Nebbiolo variety that more than any other defines the history of our hills, known as the ‘king’, Nebbiolo. We are children of this land and these vines.

"The family’s spirit of continuous improvement, in the vineyard and the cellar, coupled with our passion, commitment and innovation always remain constant. They are joined today by our pride in being third-generation vine growers. But our philosophy has not changed since 1957: we primarily cultivate native varieties, in particular Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto, which make up 85 percent of our production. All the grapes we use come from the 42 hectares (104 acres) that we own and manage. In concert with the best local consultants, we follow the entire production cycle, from pruning the vines to marketing the 250,000 bottles that we make each year."
