Barbour Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2005

Impeccably well balanced and pure, it offers elegant, sweet black currant and dark blackberry fruit tightly interwoven with cedar, vanillin, and a hint of melted licorice notes. This beautifully proportioned Cabernet is very finely tuned. Today, this wine is wound up tight, reminiscent of a elegant Bordeaux (actually reminds me of the first time tasted Lynch Bages 2000) but a generous supply of delicious Napa fruit that will evolve with proper cellaring (we recommend a minimum 3 – 5 years). Good news for patient, long term collectors is this gem should drink well for 10-15 years, peaking around 2013 in our estimate.
