Once again, this is our very favorite Chardonnay from Lewis, offering a deep golden hue, lush, aromatic ripe fruits, pineapple, ginger, and star jasmine from the offset. The sumptuous core palate displays opulent notes of poached pears, cinnamon, nutmeg, apple pie, oak and bourbon notes across a silky smooth texture. We were particularly impressed with the savory finish featuring alluring notes of coconut cream pie. That said, this gem also features a level of restraint (i.e. this is not a ‘sweet’ Chardonnay) thanks to a balance that bodes well for enjoyment the next 5 – 7 years. A truly powerful and utterly delicious, long, long, stunningly rich Chardonnay. Decant if enjoying prior to 2023 and savor every sip through 2027.
