Though it is relatively unknown, Arkenstone’s Estate Sauvignon Blanc is up there with the very best expressions of this varietal in the Napa Valley, and the 2022 vintage is spectacular. Though it is always refined and glossy in texture, the 2022 is so silky and seamless due to an extra dollop of Semillon to go along with the sur lie aging. You may be used to puckery citrus flavors in your Sauvignon Blanc, but the Arkenstone leans more toward dazzling hints of nectarine and melon and botanical notes. The brightness of the fruit flavors is wrapped in a delicate creaminess that defines balance and sophistication. The long finish displays the mountain character of the fruit with a lingering minerality and freshness. Should cellar for 5-7 years.
