Our tasting panel literally erupted with jubilation (!) when we initially sampled The 2017 Kenzo Murasaki, a modern-day classic in the making! Sophisticated and powerful, this oh-so velvety smooth, Bordeaux blend offers up a charming bouquet of red currant, black plum, allspice, and cedar. This delivers a graceful expression of opulent dark fruit richness, hints of baking spices, riveting minerality and a long, persistent finish emblematic of this winemaker’s flair. The mouthfeel is silky and the balance is impeccable, suggesting that it will cellar for 20+ years if that is a priority. Plus, this is a majestic red that will thrill now (decant prior to 2023). Absolutely fantastic.
