Raoul Gautherin Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir Reserve 2018

This ‘unicorn’ bottling is from the single best barrel of the winery’s celebrated Vaudesir vineyard Chablis. These vines are almost 50 years old and this majestic white aged for three years prior to release. The texture is ultra-silky and sexy with an oh-so-pure profile and supremely refreshing fruit that reminds us of favorite Raveneau Chablis or what one might imagine if the fabled Coche Dury crafted a Chablis! The alluring and expressive bouquet boasts waves of star jasmine plus apricot, lemon confit and zesty minerality.

Domaine Raoul Gautherin & Fils Winery

"Chablis, this name is known all over the world. This reputation is due to the prestigious wines that are produced in this village of 2500 people based in Burgundy. The Domaine Raoul Gautherin et fils is a family estate transmitted from father to son for many generations. We benefit an ancestral knowledge and a top-of-the-range vineyard exposed on the best hillsides. Our wines are elaborated in a traditional way, to let express our inimitable clay-limestone soil. Our vineyards are cultivated with rigor and passion in a reasoned and sustainable way."

Founded in 1585, this estate has been in the family for eight generations. The vineyards, benefiting from excellent exposure, produce a range of different wines. Vinification, which combines tradition with technology, is carried out in either vats or barrels. Respecting both Bourgogne traditions and the environment, the estate strives to produce the best the terroir can offer, through their passion and love for the land.
