Kenzo Bordeaux Blend Napa Murasaki 2018

This tour-de-force captivates from the beginning with oh-so velvety smooth texture and a cornucopia of exquisite flavors. A modern-day version of the most classic Bordeaux blends, this Napa masterpiece offers up a charming bouquet of red currant, black plum, allspice, and lavender. The majestic palate delivers dark fruit richness, hints of baking cocoa, boysenberry and hints of Black Forest cake. The finish entices with Godiva dark chocolate, currants, blackberry, espresso, pipe tobacco that all linger gracefully for a full minute (leading us to ‘beg’ for another sip!). The mouthfeel is silky and the balance is impeccable, suggesting that it will cellar for 20+ years if that is a priority. Plus, this is a majestic red that will thrill now (decant prior to 2023). Absolutely amazing.

Kenzo Estate Winery Winery

Kenzo Tsujimoto first achieved success as the founder of Capcom, a Japanese developer and publisher of video games. During that time, he became enchanted with the Napa Valley after the historic 1976 Judgment of Paris, which launched Napa Valley wines onto the world stage. As Capcom’s business expanded into the United States, Kenzo sought a serene location to offer an outdoor alternative to the company’s indoor electronic sporting business. His affinity for California wine country and vision to build an outdoor retreat led him to a 3,800-acre mountain valley in Napa’s southeast corner.
