Duckhorn “Discussion” Reserve Cabernet 2018

This seamless blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a dash of Cabernet Franc plus Petit Verdot is a testament to the superb quality a blue-chip winery can produce with some of the finest Estate vineyards in America! This captivating new release features nuanced aromatics of black cherry, dark chocolate, and cinnamon impeccably balanced with sophisticated flavors of raspberry truffles, semi-sweet cocoa, and Columbian espresso bean. Weighty and dense, this tantalizing wine sets a new benchmark for Duckhorn Vineyards winemaking. Bravo! – March 2023

Duckhorn Winery

Over three decades ago, before crafting their first vintage, the Duckhorns and their
winemaker had a "passionate" discussion at the kitchen table with their founding
winemaker team. Since Dan Duckhorn had been a passionate fan of Bordeaux-style
blends for years, they debated making multi-varietal cuvee but they finally chose to
focus on varietal wines. Even so, Duckhorn Vineyards has always remained fascinated
by the artful blend of varietals from diverse Napa Valley vineyards. Embodying the
depth and complexity of a world-class Estate program, "The Discussion" bottling
represents the pinnacle of the Duckhorn Vineyards portfolio and the ongoing dialogue
that defines great winemaking. Cheers to our friends at Duckhorn for this monumental
new release.

Winemaker – Renée Ary
Renée Ary became the fourth winemaker in the four-decade history of Duckhorn
Vineyards in 2014. Her promotion came after 11 years as an integral member of the
winemaking team-including roles as assistant and associate winemaker. Like the two
acclaimed winemakers before her, Renée spent years working alongside her
predecessors, honing her craft, refining her gifted palate and mastering the Duckhorn
Vineyards style. Today, with an approach that balances artistry, science and a deep
respect for the viticultural side of winemaking, Renée guides the entire Duckhorn
Vineyards portfolio, crafting wines that offer structure and sophistication, as well as a
deep and purposeful sense of place.
