Domaine Albert Grivault Meursault 1er Clos des Perrieres 2018

The 2018 Meursault Clos de Perrieres is an awe-inspiring triumph highlighting the glorious nature of this vintage. The bouquet possesses astonishing verve and a laser- like focus. Notes of Golden Delicious apple and white peach lead to a palate that is dazzling in its complexity, boasting majestic layers of tightly wound fruit with hints of nectarine and silky smooth lemon oil that will blossom gracefully in the years to come. Hints of flakey pastry plus hazelnut dazzle the majestic finish enticing me to another sip and desire to add this masterpiece to my personal cellar! This awe-inspiring white is worthy of 99 point (at least!) now – – after decanting – – and may be enjoyed through 2030. (Photo credit: Vine et Millesimes)

Domaine Albert Grivault Winery

After Albert Grivault, the estate was run by Albert Grivault’s widow and then by his daughters Berthe Grivault and Mathilde Bardet, née Grivault. Together, they managed to overcome the 1929 crisis and the two World Wars. In 1980, Albert Grivault’s grandchildren, Michel Bardet, Marguerite, and Denise Chevignard, née Bardet, took over the estate. Marguerite Bardet continued to work at the estate until 2019. Since 2004, the responsibility for the estate has been passed on to Claire Bardet, managing director, assisted by Henri Marc, who is in charge of vinification under the guidance of Michel, who still participates in the aging and marketing of the wines.
