Convene Pinot Noir Campbell Ranch 2019

This superb new release is redolent of raspberry and candied orange peel perfume. Savory and as sophisticated, with a gorgeous core of ripe cherry and pomegranate fruit backed by cassis, chamomile tea and spice box components that lead to a memorable finish. Decanting recommended (prior to 2025) and then enjoy this beauty through 2029. – March 2023

Convene Wines Winery

Founder Dan Kosta and winemaker Shane Finley have collaborated on wines of distinction for
over fifteen years. On their quest of crafting exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay blends from
California’s premier winegrowing regions, Convene is the ultimate expression.

Dan Kosta has over 20 years of experience in the Sonoma County wine industry, specifically as
THE leading producer of ultra-premium California Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. A native son of
Sonoma wine country, Dan’s lifelong love of food and wine led him to a career in the restaurant
industry, utilizing skills learned as a child to navigate through a series of world class restaurants
as a back waiter, waiter, bartender, maître d’, operations manager and finally as wine director at
the acclaimed John Ash & Company in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County. It was there
that Dan and his business partner Michael Browne founded Kosta Browne Winery in 1997.
In the spring of 2006, Shane Finley became the Associate Winemaker at Kosta Browne Winery.
For the next six years, he was at the helm of the cellar responsible for crafting Kosta Browne’s
world-renowned wines-- including the 2009 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir that brought home Wine
Spectator’s “Wine of the Year” recognition.

Shane, like many in the industry, took an indirect route to winemaking. He earned a BA in
English from the Virginia Military Institute, then worked for an insurance agency in New York
City where he fell in love with wine during business dinners. He left that job to explore his new
passion, and spent a few years interning at some of the world’s most respected wineries: Copain
in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley, Torbreck Vintners in South Australia’s Barossa
Valley, and Domaine Pierre Gaillard in the Northern Rhône. After his return to California,
Shane worked with premium wine brands such as Copain, Paul Hobbs and Lynmar Estate prior
to rejoining Dan at AldenAlli, and eventually DK Wine Group.
