Chateau Tertre Roteboeuf St. Emilion Grand Cru 2010

We first sampled this bottle direct from the Chateau’s cellar during our visit 4 years ago. I immediately recognized this specific vintage as a truly magical wine experience that is a guaranteed thriller for all Napa Cabernet fans. The voluptuous nature of this ripe vintage reminds me of some of Napa’s pricier ‘Cult’ Cabernets with bold, almost ‘jammy’ fruit flavors after a decade of cellar time. Tasted most recently in 2020, this 2010 vintage still shows a spectacular, garnet-purple in color with a gorgeous nose of baked cherries, warm plums, crème de cassis. Flavors include Christmas spices, with touches of truffles, and even rare beef (ergo the name) on the savory finish. This delightfully rich and spicy wine must be tasted to believe it. A quintessential St. Emilion thriller from perhaps the best vintage of this century.
