Cattleya Chardonnay Call to Adventure RRV 2019

Sampling this mesmerizing new white wine is like sipping liquid gold, easily one of California’s very most refreshingly delicious Chardonnays and this new vintage is once again a strong candidate for Boutique Chardonnay of the Year! The opulent bouquet boasts honeysuckle and jasmine aromas then features notes of succulent lemon tart, mandarin orange peel, ginger and peach blossoms plus a buttered popcorn on the alluring finish. The palate is ultra-rich and layered, giving generous amounts of citrus, caramel, and vanilla highlights plus a finessed, age-worthy finish that is pure joy to drink now through 2030. Bravo.

Cattleya Winery

Cattleya wines are the result of a deep and long love story between Bibiana Gonzales Rave's soul and wine. Born and raised in Colombia, she knew she would become a winemaker by age 14. Bibiana trained as a winemaker in France and started her own label, Cattleya Wines, in 2012. Since then, she has earned a remarkable series of accolades and rave reviews for all her wines and those of her clients. She was named one of Wine Enthusiast’s first “40 Under 40: America’s Tastemakers” in 2014 and in 2015, she was named “Winemaker of the Year” by the San Francisco Chronicle. Over the past six years Bibiana was exclusively Consulting for Wayfarer and Pahlmeyer. In 2016, she started a new label, Alma de Cattleya, initially for distribution only in Colombia. Bibiana is married to winemaker Jeff Pisoni and together they craft Shared Notes, an homage to Sauvignon Blanc and their only joint winemaking venture.
