Bacigalupi Russian River Valley Chardonnay Estate 2021

A 100% yummy Chardonnay for fans of ripe, tropical fruit and ultra-creamy oak flavors. The silky smooth texture leads to an array of bold fruit flavors including fresh peaches, honey crisp apples, and hints of cashews, vanilla and freshly buttered biscuits on the finish. Bottomline is this Chardonnay is a glass full of fun! – April 2023

The Winery

With 65 years of experience in the grape growing and wine industry the Bacigalupi (
Italian for “Kiss of the Wolf”) family was primarily known for sourcing fruit to some of
Sonoma and Napa’s most sought after names. With now 3 generations involved and
winemaker Ashley Hertzberg leading the winemaking endeavor, the family produces a
small amount of wine under their own name.

The Bacigalupi’s gained recognition as growers during the famous 1976 Paris tasting
when the 1973 Napa Valley Chardonnay from Château Montelena made with a
purported (the family has the original bill of sale on display in their tatsing room) 50%
of Bacigalupi fruit triumphed over many acclaimed French wines to be declared the
undisputed winner. This event was to be the turning point in America’s global wine
image. That same block of Chardonnay used to produce this world renowned wine is still
in existence today and carefully tended by the family.
